Creativity, it seems, generally sprouts from a need for it. And during this interesting season of protective isolation and adjusted social practices, we’re proud to see how our Cadence Living communities have discovered and imagined new and creative ways to keep our residents in touch with their loved ones.
Those efforts have arguably never been more important or more appreciated than right now, as we prepare to celebrate Mother’s Day, a holiday that traditionally brings loved ones together for festive gatherings focused on celebrating a shared love for the moms in a family. Even as we continue to follow social distancing guidelines, our Cadence communities are preparing for an infusion of love and gratitude delivered in new, inventive ways.
At Moorseville, families have been invited to decorate their mom’s windows with loving messages, and residents will celebrate the day by making suncatchers, receiving handmade cards and enjoying a beautiful rose with a special lunch. Families are also invited to participate in video calls with their moms while onsite.
Cadence Millbrae will celebrate the day with delivery of a special Mother’s Day brunch meal to each resident. The Lifestyle team will be providing extra pampering with mocktails, individual roses and extra special gifts to honor all Mothers on this special day. Family members have also been invited to send in photos and videos, which will be shared with residents.
North Raleigh held a parade earlier this week to view the loving messages left on the windows of our residents from their family members, and they are preparing to receive dozens of masks made by a community member to keep our residents safe.
Family members of Garner residents have been invited to participate in a drive-by Mother’s Day celebration. Residents will be out and about, at a safe distance, as loved ones drive past with signs, balloons and music.
At Inspira, our staff members have been collecting photos from the families of residents and plan to print books with the images before delivering copies to everyone. Residents at Andara will receive handwritten letters from their family members, along with flowers — a nice complement to a special Mother’s Day meal the community has planned.
And, at ACOYA, their Mother’s Day celebration will include a tea cart, tulips and treats, lifting spirits all around.
As we care for our Cadence Living residents and address their needs on a daily basis, we never lose sight of the importance of connections, every day but especially now. And, no matter the season, we never lose sight of the importance of our moms. That never changes.
