A few years ago I had started thinking about moving my father to assisted living. At the time we had looked at 2 places. One was great, brand new, but my father didn’t like there were 3 floors. The gym was on one floor, dining was on another, and salon was on another. I didn’t like the fact they didn’t have a nurse of staff. So I decided to wait a little bit longer and endure the struggles of him living with us. My father fell in November and we decided it was time. I did a search on google and Cadence of Garner NC came up. I looked at the video, read all about it and emailed the facility. I had a response back right away and made an appointment to go visit the next day. When I walked in door, I knew right away this was the place. Residents were gathered talking, and upon my entrance said hello to me. I met with Jackie McKenna who walked me through the facility and went into detail all the amenities, answering all my questions. I could not believe your facility is 7 yrs old! The walls looked as if they were freshly painted. And, it did NOT smell like an assisted living facility! After my tour, I was sold and brought my father back the next day. He fell in love with Cadence, just for the mere fact the residents and staff all acknowledged him and made him feel welcome, which also told me the residents are happy!
I enjoyed the tour of your community. Our guide was very thorough and answered all our questions. The community was decorated well ,clean and no unpleasant smells. The care givers were all engaged with the residents and the residents appeared well cared for.
I spoke with Jessica, a representative for Cadence this evening. She took my call at 8pm to work around my schedule. During my conversation with Jessica, I found her to be extremely helpful and informative, but also very candid, in terms of the entire process. This is not something I do not always experience when speaking with different Assisted Living Facilities. If you are searching for Senior Facilities, I highly recommend speaking with Jessica. Hear from our executive director
Originally from Illinois, I bring 21 years of nursing experience across skilled nursing, cosmetic surgery, and wound care. My family and I relocated to North Carolina for its proximity to both the ocean and mountains. I’m proud to be a mother of four and a grandmother, with a special joy in spoiling my granddaughter! My passion lies in enhancing the quality of life for the geriatric population. After three years at Cadence Garner—two as Resident Services Director, and now one as Executive Director—I am grateful to consider our residents and their families a part of my forever family.
