Cadence Living Appointed Manager of Boutique Japanese-American Community in Southern California
Scottsdale, AZ. — Cadence Living, a senior housing owner, developer and operator based in Scottsdale, Arizona, was appointed manager at Nikkei Senior Gardens, a boutique 78 unit independent living, assisted living and memory community in Arleta, California affiliated with the San Fernando Valley Japanese American Community Center. Nikkei Senior Gardens offers retirement housing with a back-to-the-Earth difference: Residents can tend their own garden plots or practice on a nine hole putting green. In addition, the campus includes a variety of fruit trees and an artfully designed Japanese garden. Although the community is open to everyone, it was designed to appeal specifically to Japanese American seniors, many of whom enjoy gardening. Staff members are multilingual and programming includes cultural activities.
“We pride ourselves on being different at Cadence and this community is also different and therefore a perfect match for our management,” stated Cadence Principal Rob Leinbach. “Nikkei Senior Gardens is a great testament to the Japanese-American culture with beautiful Japanese gardens on site and culinary menus that cater to the cultural experience. We are honored to be chosen to uphold that culture and uniqueness developed by Nikkei Senior Gardens’ founders Harry Nakada and Harold Muraoka in collaboration with the Nikkei Senior Gardens Board of Directors.”
Cadence Living is currently developing, owns and/or operates communities throughout the south and west. What sets Cadence apart is the company’s devoted approach to creating healthy, vibrant communities that offer residents exceptional independent living, assisted living and memory care lifestyle options. The name “Cadence” underlines the company’s personal philosophy that each community should aspire, create and respond to life’s natural rhythms to enliven and enrich the experience of residents.
