Cogir Senior Living hosts “The World’s Largest Dog Party” across 100+ communities on March 19

Nationwide — March 11, 2026 — On March 19, Cogir Senior Living communities across the country will unite for what may be the largest coordinated dog celebration in senior living history.

In partnership with Humane World for Animals, formerly called the Humane Society of the United States, Cogir communities nationwide will host synchronized pet-focused events in support of the More Than a Pet campaign. With approximately 20 million pets in the U.S. experiencing poverty alongside their families, the campaign works to expand access to pet care and essential resources in underserved communities. Cogir locations will support that mission through on-site adoption events, donation drives benefiting local shelters and partners along with community-wide celebrations. Each location will bring its own personality to the celebration. Activities include:

• On-site dog adoption events
• Donation drives supporting local shelters and Pets for Life partners
• Dog treat decorating stations
• Bubble play zones
• Photo booths with themed props
• Peanut butter painting experiences
• Community “dog parties” open to residents, families and neighbors

The initiative underscores Cogir’s belief that pets are more than companions — they are family.
