Cogir of Chesapeake offers Assisted Living and Memory Care lifestyle choices for modern seniors.

Our age-in-place philosophy is a perfect solution for couples who have different needs but still want to stay together, as your lifestyle doesn’t have to change when one spouse requires more help.

Our Care Partners are certified caregivers. They are required to complete the approved training program as mandated by Virginia’s governing health office. Cogir of Chesapeake also provides ongoing training monthly and as needed.

We can assist residents with daily living activities such as showering, dressing, grooming and dining. Each resident will receive a personalized service plan that details their care and is regularly updated to meet evolving needs. For example, some of our residents require general oversight and reminders, while others need various levels of care and assistance.

For prospects or residents who are hearing impaired, we are committed to offering appropriate accommodations to make their experience seamless and successful. These may include providing a translator during tours, utilizing virtual interpreter services, message boards, or other interventions that will help ensure that they feel welcomed, understood, and supported in our community.

Our priority is always to uphold the dignity of those we serve and to make sure that everyone, regardless of ability, has full access to the care and comfort they deserve.

Residents enjoy a full calendar of engaging indoor activities designed to promote wellness, creativity, and social connection. Indoor amenities include restaurant-style dining, private dining for special celebrations, a library, game room, movie theater, fitness and wellness programs, scheduled social events, and on-site physical and occupational therapy services.

We offer beautiful outdoor spaces where residents can enjoy fresh air and stay active. Outdoor amenities include a landscaped walking path around the community, covered patios, and an outdoor fireplace. Residents also participate in scheduled outings and excursions to local attractions, restaurants, parks, and cultural destinations throughout the Chesapeake area.

Monthly rates include many everyday services and amenities, such as:

• Restaurant-style dining with chef-prepared meals
• Weekly housekeeping and linen service
• Scheduled transportation
• A full calendar of social, recreational, and wellness programs
• Routine apartment maintenance
• Utilities (except telephone service in Independent Living)
• Staff available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
• Emergency response system
• Access to on-site therapy services

Assisted Living and Memory Care residents also receive personalized care services based on their individual needs.

Apartments are available in studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom floor plans (with additional suite options in Memory Care). Apartment features include:

• Kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator
• Private bathroom with zero-entry shower
• 24-hour emergency communication system
• Individually controlled heating and air conditioning
• Safety-focused bathroom design for added comfort and accessibility

Resident safety is supported through several built-in features, including:

• A 24-hour emergency communication system in every apartment
• Staff available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
• Daily resident check-ins in Assisted Living
• Safety-designed bathrooms with zero-entry showers
• Personalized care and supervision for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents based on individual needs.
