The resident in this community are some of the happiest I have ever seen. The residents I spoke with were happy to talk about all the amenities the facility offers. They spoke about how there are always multiple different activities for residents to participate in so no one is left out. There are also many outing offered throughout the week which allows the residents ample opportunity to explore the community and farther destinations. They said the chef keeps things interesting by changing the menu seasonally and serving fresh and healthy meals that match their interests. They told me that if they request something it will be on the menu or activity board about a week later. In my time I have a seen a lot of memory care facilities be an afterthought. However the memory care unit at Cogir has some of the happiest residents I have seen on tours. The residents are engaged and raved about their care staff members. Overall this community is one of the more luxurious and engaging communities when it comes to the retirement options in the area.

Cogir is a lovely new community close to the Washington Square Mall, neighborhood parks, and other nearby shops and restaurants. Cristal gave me a tour of the property, and I was struck by the modern, sophisticated design, as well as the friendly staff, amenities, bistro, and dining areas. I happened to be there during a music performance and noticed how full the activity calendar was, filled with lovely, engaging, and enriching activities. I would definitely recommend Cogir of Tigard to anyone seeking a new place to call home.

Hear from our executive director
I was born and raised in the Netherlands, where I became a licensed RN specializing in psychiatry. Life has taken me on an incredible journey—from raising 5 amazing kids (and now 3 sweet grandkids!) to building a career in senior living that I truly love. Over the past few years, I’ve worked as a Memory Care Director, Health and Wellness Director, and Executive Director—often stepping in to help communities grow, strengthen systems, and create warm, welcoming homes for seniors.
